Twitter For iPad

by admin on September 1, 2010

Well they finally released the official Twitter App for the iPad. Go ahead and click the app store to find it.

They’ve done some interesting things here. By running the thing in landscape mode, you get the chance to view lists and links and the content that goes with them. It makes Twitter more about reviewing the content found on Twitter versus pushing to the world what you had for lunch.

It does take multiple Twitter accounts and has 1-click Instapaper support. Very cool and potentially very powerful. It’s almost like a light version of Flipboard without all the overhead. Also included is a Safari bookmarklet.

It’s one of the better Twitter apps I’ve ever seen and it will remain installed on my iPad but, it is Twitter only. The Social Media world is simply bigger than any one site/engine and we need apps that will reflect that.

If only HootSuite would release their iPad app …

Thoughts? Like it? You a Twitter only Social Media type?

Simplenote iPad

August 23, 2010

Update: RELEASED AND AWESOME. TAGGING AND SHARING INCLUDED. WE LOVE THIS APP.
We are huge Simplenote fans around here.  The data triangle of phone/pad/desktop does more for my organizational needs (and the fact that my brain simply must process data, not store it) than I can explain.
The site has recently been updated with a new [...]

Several of you have asked for a [...]

YouTube Ads In HTML5 And The iPad – Things Are Going To Change

July 11, 2010

I’ve been secretly enjoying the fact that nobody is putting ads atop HTML5 video. Maybe you haven’t noticed, but when you watch HTML5 video, you don’t get the overlays you traditionally get in flash video. Compare/contrast the iPad versions of YouTube or Revison3 with their desktop players for examples.
Well, we won’t get [...]

ReaddleDocs Versus GoodReader

July 11, 2010

One of the biggest complaints of most iPad users is the lack of a file management system. The solution to this issue, in this revision at least, are file/reader programs.
The 800 pound gorilla in this space is the very sleek, sexy and cheap GoodReader app. For 99 cents it’s a no-brainer for many and [...]
