Working On This iPad Thing

by Paul Colligan on April 3, 2010

So, I’m here at the Red Carpet Club in LAX answering email and getting some work done, as promised, using nothing but the iPad Tablet.

The keyboard is fine/great and more than enough to get the job done. At home I expect to be using my Mac Bluetooth Keyboard, which also gets the work done. Apps used in the last hour have been Mail, Gmail (Web App), and, of course, WordPress for iPad.

All are as functional as their Mac/PC counterparts, and in term of the no multitasking thing – switching between apps is so fast, it feels Ike multitasking.

So far, so good. But then again, it has only been about 70 minutes.

I’ll write a few posts on the plane and publish when I get to PDX.

Paul, you rock dude! Thanks for creating the 30day iPad program. I don't get mine until Monday but I'm reading up on all your stuff so I can be ready to go.

Thanks for the updates Paul – looking forward to your 30 day experience. I've got an iPad on my Father's Day list – but not sure I can wait that long!

Thanks for the update, 70 minutes is a good start… you still have 29 days to go.

Thanks Paul, it's exciting to follow this. 29 more days. Am very curious.

    I think you'll really enjoy e ride.

  • paulcolligan

Well if you do, you should have some serious learning here to go in with.

  • paulcolligan

Oh, there will be hiccups. Should make for some drama here on the blog methinks.

  • paulcolligan

    As am I.

    Hey Paul,

How'd you get the picture of the iPad uploaded to your blog post with your iPad? Do you connect your camera to your iPad directly? Or do you upload it to your computer and then dock it and transfer the photo and then upload it? Seems like that would be a big hassle.

  • paulcolligan

Took picture on iPhone. Sent to email. From email, put into photos. Pulled photo from WordPress app. Hassle, yes. Big hassle, no.

Ok, cool, that makes sense. That's not too bad – not much more difficult than using your computer to do it.

  • paulcolligan

    Exactly.
