If you don’t know about Pogoplug, you should. It’s a great little device that let’s you hook a USB hard drive up to the Internet and do all sorts of great things – like streaming. There is an iPhone app for Pogoplug (that also works on the iPad) that lets you do some cool things, but this little trick is way too cool.
In short, you can stream your music collection to your iPad, in the background, TODAY. For those of us lucky enough to get an unlimited 3G contract, this is very cool. Of course, you’d have to stream a ton of music to pass any cap – but I thought I’d just brag about my unlimited 3G plan just one more tim.
Anyway, here is the video that explains it all. If your feed reader doesn’t embed the file below, here is the Pogoplug Streaming To iPad (In The Background) video on YouTube.
And, no, you don’t have to wait for the IOS 4 to do this. However, when you see what IOS 4 brings to it, you’ll love the process even more. Here’s a video of PogoPlug streaming audio (in the background) on the iPhone with IOS 4.
