Twitter For iPad

by Paul Colligan on September 1, 2010

Well they finally released the official Twitter App for the iPad. Go ahead and click the app store to find it.

They’ve done some interesting things here. By running the thing in landscape mode, you get the chance to view lists and links and the content that goes with them. It makes Twitter more about reviewing the content found on Twitter versus pushing to the world what you had for lunch.

It does take multiple Twitter accounts and has 1-click Instapaper support. Very cool and potentially very powerful. It’s almost like a light version of Flipboard without all the overhead. Also included is a Safari bookmarklet.

It’s one of the better Twitter apps I’ve ever seen and it will remain installed on my iPad but, it is Twitter only. The Social Media world is simply bigger than any one site/engine and we need apps that will reflect that.

If only HootSuite would release their iPad app …

Thoughts? Like it? You a Twitter only Social Media type?

I have been using it for the past 30 minutes or so, and am all positive about it. It supports everything that I need it to support, use of the URL shorteners that I use, and to me seems more like a much more spunky clone of Osfoora HD.

That said, Im very comfortable using it, I am commenting using it right now to be honest. The only beef that I have is that pages can be at times a little jittery, but I am sure that will be fixed in an update. Love it though!

Hi Paul. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. There is just too many choice to look at them all. Jeanne H. of mysurveyexpert.com is taking your lead and having a drawing for a free iPad. The odds are 1 in 500 so if your followers want a chance to win one and don't mind answering 5 questions about “a more energetic lifestyle”, have them go to http://ipadenergyvideo.com/
The drawing should take place soon as they get 500 responses.

You know, I never tried Osfoora – good to hear it's as good. Saved me a few bucks ;-)

Hardly a Twitter comment is it, Randy?
